I've been in Texas for week and have accomplished quite a bit on my vacation.
- Found my old clothes in storage (thanks mom & dad for not throwing them away) and remembered how to dress like a normal person - apparently going barefoot and wearing just a bathing suit & shorts is not acceptable back here in the real world.
- Had an awesome BBQ at Rogge Ranch, my brother's house and my 2nd favorite place in the world, after Seychelles. Check out Kate Bowie's amazing photos from the event, she captured the day far better than I can, she is a professional photographer after all
- Played golf with my dad and grandfather and taught my niece how to drive the golf cart, though she already knows how to drive a riding lawn mover
- Had ridiculous amounts of BBQ meat, Tex-Mex and Blue Bell ice cream
- Frolicked among the Texas wildflowers
- Witnessed my brother's potbellied pig, Tinkerbelle, get a mani/pedi (it involves tackling the pig and holding her on her back while she squeals...like a pig)
- Watched the most horrific television show EVER about my home state - Big Rich Texas on Style. Pretty much embodies everything I hate here - materialistic & incredibly fake people with REALLY big hair and houses......and I can't stop watching it.
- Successfully went to Target without having a panic attack due to the overwhelming amount of options for everything. And successfully made it out without spending more than $50.
- Obviously the most important - spent lots of time with family & friends
- Vacation summary: so far, so good, and I've got over a week left to get my fill of Tex-Mex to last me for the rest of the year
